Welcome to the John Openshaw Society
Where Houston’s Sherlockians Meet
We are a group of people located in Houston from different backgrounds, professions, and areas of life. We get together under one common interest: Sherlock Holmes. At John Openshaw Society, we meet to discuss anything and everything related to Sherlock Holmes and his trustworthy biographer, Dr. John Watson.
Our society has been featured in numerous press publications and well known locations such as the Houston Chronicle and Houston Museum of Natural Science. Additionally, several of our members are actors at well known theaters around the city.
We typically meet every other month on a Sunday at 5pm at Rudyard’s in Montrose. The specific Sunday is chosen at the most recent meeting. However, we often get together for plays, tea, museum visits, and other gatherings related to the Victorian era. Keep an eye out on the Events Calendar as well as email correspondence from our 3rd Pip’s mailing list sent to all members.
